“Ivan’s Delta”, considered to be the first slow tourism route in the Danube Delta, was launched on the occasion of the Ivan Patzaichin Festival 2023.
Over 100 people left Tulcea, paddling in kayaks or boats without motors, on the first slow tourism route in the Danube Delta.
The participants in the “United Waters of Romania” caravan rowed for three days over a distance of about 55 kilometers. In fact, it is a dream of the legendary Ivan Patzaichin that is now coming true.
This was also mentioned by Teodor Frolu, one of the founding members of the Ivan Patzaichin-Mila 23 Association, the one who continued the projects started by the multiple champion.
“The slow tourism route is an old idea of Ivan’s, namely to create an alternative to today’s tourism in which traffic is a priority for rowing or electric boats, so that, like in a city, in addition to the highway and the expressway, we also have a pedestrian, so to speak,” Frolu said.
