On Thursday, July 24, the layer was laid in the most spectacular, challenging and difficult competition dedicated to large sailboats, on the west coast of the Black Sea. Black Sea 200 Regatta 2025. This is the first offshore regatta in Romania, which takes place on a 200 nautical mile route that will be traveled non-stop. The event is at its first edition. 12 sailboats from Romania and Bulgaria registered for this edition.
Organized between July 21 and 27, 2025, the regatta brings together 12 boats from the countries of Romania and Bulgaria) that will face together the waves, the wind and the challenges of an endurance course that will emphasize the physical endurance of the crew, navigation, tactics and strategy.
The start and finish take place in Mangalia, the turning point and also a checkpoint being St. Anastasia Island, in the Gulf of Burgas in Bulgaria.
Black Sea 200 Regatta – more than a sports competition
Offshore kingdoms with a long tradition in Western countries involve routes of tens or hundreds of nautical miles, routes that pass through open areas, where crews must sail continuously, plan sleep shifts, manage weather changes and safety at sea. The most spectacular such regattas, among those close to us, are the Aegean 600 and the Rolex Middle Sea Race
The Black Sea 200 Regatta is more than a sports competition. It is a demonstration of tactics, endurance and camaraderie on the water. The crews will sail day and night, testing their strategy and ability to adapt to the unpredictable conditions of the Black Sea.
Also, the organizers have put access to safety, all the sailboats present being equipped to the highest standard from this point of view.
The race is organized through an international partnership between the Seanergya Sports Yacht Club Association, the Sailing 4 Fun Association and the “Port Bourgas” Yacht Club.
