The Romanian Naval Authority has launched a national prevention and control campaign dedicated to nautical leisure activities. Over 100 NRA inspectors, from all Port Captaincies, are mobilized as part of this extensive action that is taking place at national level and will last until September 15, 2025.

During the campaign, the following will be checked:
• The technical condition of recreational boats and their documents;
• Boat drivers’ documents;
• Consumption of alcohol and prohibited substances on board;
• Compliance with the maximum number of people allowed on board the boats;
• Wearing life jackets and other safety measures.
At the same time, the economic agents that carry out nautical leisure activities or passenger transport will also be controlled, as well as the points of rental and operation of recreational boats.
Prevention, as important as sanctions
The NRA campaign is not limited to controls. An essential component is informing and raising public awareness, through clear messages regarding the dangers of alcohol consumption or other prohibited substances while sailing, but also the obligation to wear life jackets and compliance with legal regulations.
We want a summer without incidents on the water. Through this campaign, we aim not only to impose rules, but to build a culture of responsibility in recreational boating. During the campaign, the Romanian Naval Authority will periodically return with information on the status of the controls and any measures ordered. Management of the Romanian Naval Authority.
