IWC Schaffhausen has added a vibrant splash of colour to its acclaimed Colors of TOP GUN collection with the introduction of a striking new shade: TOP GUN Miramar.
Inspired by the pale blue shirts worn by instructors at the legendary US Navy hunting weapons school, the new shade debuts on two 41 mm Pilot chronographs: one ceramic and one stainless steel. TOP GUN Miramar joins other shades like Mojave Desert and Oceana.
Pilot Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar (Ref. IW389409)
At the heart of this summer’s launch is the Pilot Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar (Ref. IW389409). Limited to 1,000 pieces, the watch features a light blue ceramic case, a matching rubber strap and a matching dial, all presented in the fresh Miramar shade, developed in collaboration with Pantone. The needles – also blue – are coated with Super-LumiNova for visibility in low-light environments. Apart from that, the new model features the sought-after tricompax look, with slightly recessed and grooved subdials, Arabic numerals, a triangle at 12 o’clock and the day-of-the-week and date indication at 3 o’clock.
The ceramic housing, with a width of 41.9 mm and a thickness of 15.5 mm, is the result of IWC’s technical expertise in the field of high-tech materials. Zirconium oxide, combined with precisely selected metal oxides, undergoes a complex sintering process to achieve the exact final color – a process that requires meticulous experimentation. One of the biggest challenges is also harmonizing colors on different materials, including the dial and belt, each with unique properties and manufacturing requirements. Like most members of the watch family, the Miramar ceramic version is equipped with a soft iron inner case to protect the mechanism against magnetism and features a solid back cover with a dedicated engraving.

Pilot Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388117)
In a first for the brand, IWC is also introducing the colour TOP GUN Miramar on a stainless steel watch – the Unlimited Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388117). This new model has a brushed 41 x 14.5 mm case, paired with the same Pantone blue dial and rubber strap as its ceramic counterpart. Here, rhodium-plated needles are also filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring optimal readability. Another surprise is visible on the back: Ref. IW388117 comes with a transparent sapphire protective cover, providing a beautiful panorama of the high-quality automatic caliber inside and its superb finishes such as stripes, fur and skeletonized oscillating mass.
Both chronographs are powered by IWC-manufactured calibre 69000 movements, which beat at a frequency of 4 Hz and feature a column-wheel operation. This sophisticated chronograph mechanism ensures precise button actuation and distinct tactile feedback every time you start, stop or reset. The efficient double ratchet winding system builds a 46-hour power reserve.
Both models are water resistant to 100 meters and are equipped with the brand’s EasX-CHANGE system, which allows for quick belt changes without tools.
The steel version is priced at $7,200.
