Dedicated to the cosmos, it combines science and psyche in a single design, showcasing both the planets of our solar system and the zodiacal constellations. The result is a captivating watch, especially since Hvilina has opted for a poetic approach.

Hvilina proposes a unique design
The design of the dial is based on one of the oldest star maps known to man, dating back to the ninth century. Hvilina incorporated them along with the zodiacal constellations on a disc that moves under a window that covers almost the entire upper part of the dial, performing a complete rotation in 24 hours.
For this reason, Hvilina kept one side of the dial light, and the other dark, representing day and night. The lower part of the dial shows a three-dimensional model of our solar system. Playing with shapes, text, and textures, Hvilina added a lot of depth, adding to the fun factor of this watch. Those also stand out, not only because of their bold design, but also because all three have a color of their own.
Inside is the Miyota caliber 9075, a reliable automatic movement that can be admired through the sapphire insert on the case cover. The case itself has a generous diameter of 42.6 mm, but wears less due to the domed shape and relatively short lugs. Hvilina offers it in three colors, from cosmic blue and infinite black, to a black and gold version for those who want a touch of luxury.
Customization Options and Pricing
What is quite unique, especially at a price that is not prohibitively expensive, is the fact that Hvilina offers the option of customization. For 30 euros, the zodiac sign of your choice will be highlighted in color on the GMT dial. Since each version of the Universum Mechanical Cosmographia is limited to 500 pieces, Hvilina even gives you the option to choose the number you want and engrave it on the case.
The watch comes with a comfortable rubber strap with a quick-release mechanism that features a design in line with the celestial theme of the watch itself. In addition, a leather strap or one with a crocodile pattern can be ordered with the watch. The Universum Mechanical Cosmographia is priced at €533, but is now available at €400 during the pre-order period.
