Chopard marks 20 years of Qualité Fleurier certification with a stunning limited anniversary edition

To mark two decades since the establishment of the prestigious Qualité Fleurier certification, Chopard unveils a special anniversary edition of its L.U.C Qualité Fleurier watch.

Crafted from ethical 18-carat yellow gold, this gorgeous elegant watch brings to life an elegant reinterpretation of a historic design, combining timeless style with modern precision. The new model pays homage to the original L.U.C Qualité Fleurier watch, launched in 2005 – an elegant creation inspired by a Chopard piece from the 1950s. L.U.C Qualité Fleurier is a limited edition of 20 pieces. The price is $32,300.

The new L.U.C. Qualité Fleurier from Chopard

With its 39 mm case, slim 8.9 mm profile, welded lugs and sophisticated sector dial, the watch reflects the minimalist elegance that defined the Art Deco aesthetic and enjoyed a golden age from the 1920s to the 1960s. The sectoral dial, with its geometric appearance and clear legibility, has experienced a renaissance in recent years, and this anniversary edition captures this spirit with finesse.

Its two-tone dial features a satin center with a solar finish, a circular ring for satin-finished chapters, and a small colacyform subdial for seconds at 6 o’clock. Golden, syringe-shaped needles glide across the dial, a signature allusion to L.U.C. models. Its vintage look is enhanced by a supple brown calfskin strap with beige stitching that lends a subtle sporty touch to the refined aesthetic.

Caliber L.U.C 96.09-L

At the heart of this exceptional watch is the ultra-thin L.U.C 96.09-L calibre, a direct descendant of the L.U.C 96.01-L model launched in 1996, which helped define the modern era of the Chopard Manufacture. At just 3.30 mm thick, the self-winding mechanism boasts Chopard’s Twin technology, with two stacked barrels that provide a 65-hour power reserve and a micro-rotor made of ethical 22-carat gold. Impeccably decorated with Côtes de Genève, circular grain, hand-beveled and mirror-polished, the movement embodies haute horlogerie craftsmanship at the highest level.

As befits its status, the movement is double certified: by the COSC for chronometric precision and by the Qualité Fleurier Foundation – one of the most demanding certification bodies in the Swiss watchmaking industry. To meet the Fleurier standard, the watch undergoes a trio of rigorous tests: COSC chronometry, the Chronofiable protocol for robustness and aging, and Fleuritest, a 24-hour simulation of wrist wearing in the real world. Only watches that maintain a daily deviation between 0 and +5 seconds during the process receive the coveted QF mark.

Qualité Fleurier label

Founded in 2001 by Chopard, Bovet, Parmigiani Fleurier and Vaucher, the Qualité Fleurier label was born out of a collective vision to raise the transparency and standards of fine Swiss watchmaking. Today, Chopard remains the only production still represented on the certification steering committee, underlining its deep commitment to the prestigious name.
