The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom gave an impressive demonstration of its capabilities at the 12th edition of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. With a record average speed of 49.84 knots, it not only eclipsed the competition in the speed contest, but also set a new absolute record in the history of the event.

“We are extremely proud to have shown the full potential of Frauscher x Porsche at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. The use of Porsche technology directly from the new electric Macan and the boatbuilding expertise of the team at the Frauscher shipyard have resulted in a unique electric boat,” said Stefan Frauscher, Managing Director of the Frauscher shipyard.
The new era in electric boats
The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is recognized as one of the leading innovation platforms in the field of sustainable maritime mobility. The aim of the competition is to promote zero-emission propulsion technologies and test them in real conditions.
In the “speed” category, the average speed is measured over two runs of 1 kilometer each (round trip) – a practical scenario that reflects efficiency and performance in real terms.
The boat used is 100% identical to the production model – allowing Frauscher x Porsche customers to experience the same performance on their own trips.
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom was entered in the Open Sea class and defeated a group of high-caliber international teams. This success not only underlines the technical innovation of the boat, but also marks an important milestone in the development of electric propulsion solutions in the maritime sector.
The Frauscher x Porsche project
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom and the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom AIR are available in a limited edition of 25 units. Of these, 12 have already been sold to international customers on three continents.

The two Frauscher x Porsche models are the result of a close collaboration between the Frauscher shipyard, one of Europe’s most renowned boat builders, and Porsche, the innovation leader in electric mobility.
At the heart of the project is the powertrain of the new all-electric Porsche Macan, which has been specially adapted for use on the water. Combined with the iconic hull shape of the Frauscher 858 Fantom, the result is an electric daytime cruiser with exceptional performance, cutting-edge technology and elegant aesthetics.
Strengths include:
– 800-volt technology for fast charging and maximum power
– Innovative transmission management based on the Macan Powertrain powertrain
– Seamless integration of Porsche design and Frauscher design language
– Customization and high-quality materials
– Enough range for full-day trips with emission-free operation
