Gin & Tonic, the boat built by Feadship in 1981, has returned to the high seas after a meticulous multi-stage renovation at Cantieri di Pisa.
With the permission of the owner, the renovation was divided into two parts: the first technical and the second aesthetic. The team first repaired the steel hull and upgraded the onboard equipment. The stabilisers have been replaced by electrically operated alternatives, designed to reduce roll and increase comfort and stability.
The yacht was also given “a stunning new look,” according to Cantieri di Pisa. The classic silhouette of the 1980s remains, of course. Achieving a class renewal, Gin & Tonic will return to sailing on the Mediterranean more lively than ever. It is also available for rent.
Gin & Tonic had a companion on the construction site
Gin & Tonic is not the only renovation completed by Cantieri di Pisa in recent days. The shipyard has also completed the modernization of a 43-meter Perini Navi sailing yacht. Given its size and design, the shipyard had to dismantle it in order to be able to enter the Canale dei Navicelli (the canal that connects Pisa to the port of Livorno). After overcoming this logistical challenge, the renovation team began “invasive work” on the yacht, including repainting the hull and masts. He has also completed the renewal of the class and is heading to the Mediterranean.
