Introducing the Arcona 50, the new flagship of the Arcona fleet. This performance-cruiser marks an important change for Arcona Yachts with a new design approach and many new design features. Arcona 50 was named European Yacht of the Year 2024 in the Luxury Performance Cruiser category at Boot Düsseldorf and Yacht of the Year at Allt För Sjön 2024.

The task of the design team, consisting of Niels Jeppesen & Ariadna Pons, was to develop a 50-foot, performance-cruiser class performance cruising yacht that can be easily maneuvered by just two people, while offering cruising comfort and sailing performance, in true Arcona style.

In the footsteps of the “Belgica” expedition in 1897 with the yacht “Thetys” a Bestevaer 53

Created to attract new customers, this sailboat is advanced in all aspects of design, setting a new standard to meet the high demands of owners, whether it is their ambition to cruise the Stockholm Archipelago or cross an ocean.

Go further with ARCONA 50

The Arcona 50 is ideal for safe and comfortable long-distance cruises. For the first time for Arcona, this new flagship has two rudder wedges that provide more control in the water. Another first for Arcona is the addition of a garage for the dinghy.

Composite bulkheads separate the accommodation space from both the special bow sail storage caisson and the dinghy garage.

Also new for Arcona are the L-shaped cockpit benches and the two cockpit tables, which improve functionality and allow guests and crew to move more easily in the cockpit during sailing.

Locker for the life raft built into the cockpit floor, lockers for lines under side seats in front of the helms. Fittings at the stern to hide the gas cylinders and the power outlet.

Real sailing, in its own style

The Arcona 50 has double rudders as standard, and the cockpit organization and sail handling systems are configured for low-crew sailing with a strong focus on ease of use.

It has a three-cross mast, with discontinuous equipment for rod-rigging and double hydraulic cylinders for backstay with a central pumping station. A carbon mast and a furling carbon canopy are available as an upgrade. There is also an optional strai to attach a bad weather fire with rollfurling system for ocean passages. There is also the option of a bompress for the easily controllable use of asymmetrical sails.

The unique central main line blocker is recessed under the cockpit floor. As an upgrade, the yacht is available with an electrically operated randler travel rail, also recessed under the cockpit floor.

Alongside the winches, there are dedicated line lockers, allowing the cockpit to be “clean”.

For the engine, a standard 80 hp or optional 100 hp common rail diesel engine was chosen, complemented by a folding propeller transmission, keeping vibrations and noise to a minimum. The optional retractable bowthruster systems will ensure maximum maneuverability in tight gears.

Scandinavian elegance and below deck

Below deck, minimalist Scandinavian elegance permeates every detail. The interior is made of Khaya mahogany and can be upgraded to Scandinavian light oak. As seen in superyachts, but new to Arcona, the joinery is core to maximize weight savings without compromising aesthetics.

The kitchen has plenty of practical storage space, an oven stove and sink, and a generously sized fridge. The layout of the kitchen allows easy access to the L-shaped lounge chairs. There is the option to choose an alternative configuration with U-shaped chairs and an additional workspace.

The saloon table has an additional seat on the starboard side that can be moved and locked in place.

The owners’ cabin has a kingsize bed, plenty of storage, and an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower. For guests, there is an additional bathroom with a separate shower area. The two aft cabins have double beds as standard and can be upgraded to a two-bed configuration.

A lot of natural light enters through the large hull windows and from the hatches, which creates the feeling of greater space. Arcona offers a wide range of cushion fabrics and color options for customizations.

Swedish quality

Like all boats in the Arcona fleet, the Arcona 50 reflects the quality expected from Swedish boat builders, using the best materials, techniques and reliable suppliers. The hull, deck and internal structure are made of vacuum-infused Divinycell GRP with the important strategic areas reinforced with carbon. These carbon reinforcements are useful for both strength and weight reduction. Like all Arcona yachts, the Arcona 50 also has a galvanized steel keel frame.

The combination of Scandinavian expertise in yacht design with Swedish craftsmanship is an exciting combination for this new flagship Arcona.
