Sea.AI: The elegance of technology that protects ocean whales

In a remarkable partnership between science, marine engineering and conservation, Sea.AI puts technological luxury at the service of protecting the most imposing creatures of the waters: the whales of the Atlantic.

A quiet cruise through the deep waters of the Atlantic offers an unforgettable experience: gentle wind, marine tranquility and, with a little luck, a remote encounter with a whale. But for these spectacular creatures, proximity to sea vessels can mean mortal danger.

Sea.Ai, a significant step towards marine life conservation

Sea.AI — a company known for its sophisticated computer vision systems for yachting and sailing — is taking a significant step in the direction of marine life conservation. By collaborating with the prestigious Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) and the University of La Laguna, Sea.AI supports the European project ATLANTIC WHALE DEAL, an elite initiative aimed at preventing collisions between ships and marine mammals.

The Sea.AI system uses advanced cameras and intelligent algorithms to detect whales coming to the surface in real time, giving crews a critical advantage in anticipating their presence.

“It’s not just about technology — it’s about respect for the ocean and the delicate balance between humans and nature,” says Marcus Warrelmann, CEO Sea.AI. “Whether you’re sailing on a state-of-the-art superyacht or driving a commercial vessel, our system provides protection for all actors at sea — including marine wildlife.”

As the demand for sustainable and customized yachting solutions is growing, Sea.AI technology offers a rare combination: refinement, safety and positive environmental impact.

A collaboration of the utmost importance

IWDG experts, with more than 30 years of experience in whale watching in the North Atlantic, underline the importance of this collaboration: “Integrating real-time visual technology into our campaigns gives us a key advantage in conserving already vulnerable species,” explains Emilie De Loose.

The project has already started with two exploratory campaigns in the Atlantic, providing detailed information about the whales’ routes and behavior. In the future, Sea.AI systems will help map high-risk areas and optimise shipping routes.

For readers who are passionate about luxury yachting, this initiative is not only a proof of responsibility, but also an invitation to redefine luxury — as an elegant, conscious and deeply connected experience to nature.
