Launched in 2023, the Merry Fischer 1295 FLY is a Flybridge model. We tested this concentrate of style, functionality and maneuverability, attributes that can be briefly summarized in adaptability for any situation.

At the time of the test the wind exceeded 18 knots and the wave was almost 1m, the cloudy sky and a few drops of rain were falling scatteredly, a weather I could say unusually cold for the French Riviera, but somewhat perfect to test the new Merry Fischer 1295 FLY.
Manoeuvrable and high-performance
Equipped with three 300HP outboard engines, the boat is extremely maneuverable, especially when leaving the quay and mooring, thanks to the joystick.
Basically, the system allows the “rotation” – the individual movement – of each engine so that the compound forces move the boat in the desired direction.
Basically, if you rotate once short, the boat rotates by one degree, if it keeps rotated, the boat rotates every 5 degrees.
If the joystick is turned to the side, the degrees decrease from 10 to 10. The system therefore replaces the forward-reverse operation of the machine and the rotation of the rudder, thus greatly simplifying the exit from the quay and docking. Also, the autopilot and cruising speed can be activated from this system.

However, the test began after leaving the port, when the sea was quite rough and the wind was strong. I immediately felt the boat quite stable, and with a very smooth advance through the waves even at almost 12 knots, at which point it started to slide.
Stability and safety
At a speed of 30 knots, however, it behaves just as safely, it does not splash, does not fall between waves and does not make noise. I appreciated the stability on corners approached at 25 knots, the permanent feeling being that you can always force the note without leaving the safety zone.

The boat also offers the possibility of being driven from the Flybridge, which is sure to be unparalleled in terms of sensation in good weather.
Anyway, the visibility is better, but you don’t see the waves as well. But even from here if you take the wave at 45 degrees the impact is very little felt, the boat of almost 13 meters remains satiated and glides extremely pleasantly.

Given the conditions, I can say that it is an extremely adaptable, maneuverable and versatile boat even for the whole year, not just in summer.
Certainly in hot periods and on a calm sea you can fully enjoy the other advantages such as beach areas, comfort and versatility of the interior.

From the point of view of design, the modern hull with large glazed surfaces hides ample interior space both front and rear and an easily accessible and practical flybridge. Designed by Centowski & Denert Studio Design, this Jeanneau is distinguished by its three 300 hp outboard Yamaha engines, flanked by two generous swim platforms.

In the cockpit there is an L-shaped bench seat with a table in the middle. On the starboard side, the electric sliding of the curb facilitates the space for movement and can also be used for swimming.
In fact, the cabin is placed somewhat eccentrically with respect to the axis of the boat, the access to the port side being narrower, while on the starboard side you can walk quietly between the bow cockpit and the stern.

Also from the aft cockpit there is access to the flybridge through a ladder that can be moved if necessary.
The flybridge area is covered by a textile bimini, and all around the baclone is positioned high enough to provide a sense of security.
Comfort and relaxation
At the bow there are three beds for sunbathing and relaxation, as well as two armchairs in the anchor winch area.
Inside, Merry Fischer is distinguished by brightness. Towards the stern, the seating area joins the saloon thanks to the sliding doors that separate the cockpit from the galley. If they are open, a large space is created for any need.

On the left is a U-shaped kitchen with a relatively simple style, but which hides many ingenious storage solutions. There is also a bench seat with a generous table that can be used in bad weather or if you prefer the coolness of the air conditioning.
On the right-hand side is an elegant piece of furniture, which serves as a storage space, or TV stand, and houses the control panel for the Seakeeper 3 gyroscopic positioning system. We have tested it and it manages to keep the boat on the waves perfectly, stationary. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery and can work for up to a day.
Also on the right is the control console, which includes the instruments, screens and joystick as well as an unusual element, a sliding door so that the pilot can get out and maneuver the boat to dock much easier when he is alone.

From the center of the boat on a corridor you reach the Master Cabin. It has its own bathroom and separate shower. The headroom is impressive, as well as the brightness of the cabin.
On either side of the corridor there are two double cabins with two separate beds and a shared bathroom, but with a separate shower. All are comfortable, and the décor is modern and minimalist, complemented by a neutral color palette that fits well with the modern style of the boat.

In Europe, Merry Fischer is a benchmark in terms of design, performance and comfort, in all conditions. This also impressed me, the fact that it is a multipurpose boat that can be used in any season.
It sails well and is maneuverable, precise and forgiving with the waves. The price starts at 415,000 euros. In conclusion, Merry Fischer 1295 FLY is a perfect everyday park for family or friends, regardless of the season.
